With all the changes, stress and drama you are facing, it’s more important than ever you find someone you can trust to talk to, let alone guide you. I have officially navigated divorce twice. Can’t say I am proud of it. But I have accomplished the navigation through it. I have learned do’s and don’t that would have made my journey easier, smoother, gentler, and more confident.
Just as vocalist needs to practice to become confident on stage, we all need practice or expert advice to become confident in our choices. Let’s face it, any new experience can be challenging… just add the emotions of the loss of a partner, cultural stigma and family judgment of what others project on us, and all the other stuff you are going through, and wow…it can be overwhelming for you, your friends, and your family.
I have to say signing up for coaching or a divorce recovery program would have made a big difference for me. I was blessed to have some great friends.
Going through tough times will often weed out which friends are not helpful and some friends will even disappear.
I sure wish the attitude regarding divorce was “sometimes things don’t work out, but this will give you a chance to get a fresh start on life. You can take this bag of lemons and create an incredible life for yourself (and your children).”
